Acceptable Use Policy
This policy applies to every service that runs on EPC Network infrastructure: email hosting, web hosting, DNS and domain services supplied by Eyre Computer (ABN 20 143 071 165, owner Adam Pierik, Port Lincoln SA). It sits alongside the service terms you accept when you sign up.
The short version
Use the services lawfully, don't send spam, don't put other customers or the network at risk, and keep your passwords safe. If you do that, you will never hear from us about this policy.
- No unsolicited bulk or commercial email. Bulk mail must comply with the Australian Spam Act 2003: consent, sender identification and a working unsubscribe.
- No forged headers, spoofed sender addresses or relaying mail for domains you don't control.
- Mailboxes have size and sending-rate limits that are there to protect our IP reputation. A compromised mailbox that starts sending spam is suspended automatically; we will contact you to help clean it up.
- Mail is filtered for spam and malware. We can't guarantee every bad message is caught or every good one delivered.
Web hosting
- No illegal content, malware, phishing pages, copyright-infringing material, or content that harasses or threatens people.
- Keep your site software, plugins and passwords up to date. A hacked site that attacks others is taken offline until it is cleaned.
- Shared hosting is for ordinary websites. Crypto mining, bulk file distribution, proxies, and scripts that monopolise CPU or memory are not permitted.
- Adult content is not hosted on this platform.
DNS and domains
- You may only manage domains you own or are authorised to manage. Every DNS change made through the portal is logged.
- Domain registrations are subject to the registry's rules, including auDA policy for .au names. Registrant details must be accurate.
- Our nameservers must not be used to host zones for abusive or fast-flux content.
Security and fair use
- No attempts to access other customers' accounts or data, to probe or overload our systems, or to evade limits.
- Resource limits apply to each plan. If your usage is consistently well above the plan, we will talk to you about a better fit before anything is throttled.
- Use strong passwords and turn on two-factor authentication where offered. You are responsible for what happens under your login.
What happens if this policy is breached
We prefer a phone call to a shutdown. For most issues we contact you and give you time to fix it. We suspend first and ask later only where there is active harm, such as a spam run, malware, or a legal demand. Repeat or serious breaches can end the service, and the service terms cover refunds in that case.
Reporting abuse
If you receive spam or see abuse coming from an epc.net.au system, email abuse@epc.net.au with full message headers or the URL involved. Mail delivery problems go to postmaster@epc.net.au. Security issues can follow our security.txt. Reports are answered within one business day.
